Hilkia Lobman is a Surinamese actress, director, and songwriter. She is known for creating deeply personal, socially engaged work that blends humor and raw vulnerability to reflect the experiences of the Surinamese community. She is married and has one child. Lobman built a reputation in the Surinamese theatre circuit through successful stage plays like Onder vrouwen over mannen (2011) and the musical theatre piece Bami cola (2011). In 2017, she achieved mainstream commercial success with her own satirical variety project, The Hilkia Lobman Show. After expanding her training with a module in dramolette playwriting at the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Utrecht in the Netherlands, she returned to the stage in 2025 with her highly personal solo production, Nakomertje. The production was backed by the Dutch Performing Arts Fund (Fonds Podiumkunsten). She also serves as the Surinamese Artistic Leader for the cultural organization Dren Kondre in The Netherlands.
